Exclusive Review: Baby Turtle by Khalifa Kush

The day is finally here: Khalifa Kush has officially hit the Illinois market in partnership with one of Illinois’ best craft growers, Flora Arbor. Previously, Wiz Khalifa’s brand was only available in California, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Oregon, and Utah, with MSOs as their grow partners. However, in Illinois, they chose a new cultivator that proved they could meet the quality standards Wiz Khalifa and his team are looking for.

We will be conducting three separate, exclusive strain reviews of Khalifa Kush to give you a preview of what you can expect. In today’s review, I will be diving into our first strain from Khalifa Kush: Baby Turtle. This powerful hybrid is a cross between fan favorites like Jokers #31 (White Runtz x Jet Fuel Gelato) x Khalifa Kush, offering a very complex aroma that will have you coming back for another jar smell. The packaging is nice, bright, and fresh, with the strain name and crosses clearly listed, so you don’t have to go searching.

This batch of Baby Turtle was harvested on April 14th and packaged on May 14th, exactly a month after harvest. This allows for the perfect time to dry and cure, ensuring you get the premium quality you deserve. The THC percentage comes in at a whopping 36%, which, combined with the excellent trichome coverage and 3.29% terpenes, delivers a very unique aroma of strong earthy lemons with a nice piney back note.

This eighth came with three beautiful, super frosty nugs with bright orange pistils popping out from the frosty peaks. The nug broke apart into a nice fluffy pile with my Flower Mill, leaving me with a sticky pile of dank to roll up and enjoy.

When I sparked up my joint of Baby Turtle, I was hit with a very unique flavor of lemons and gas, with those earthy notes showing up on the backend, giving me a nostalgic feeling from when I first started smoking. This isn’t a strain that knocks you out, but rather one that helps you unwind and turn off your brain so you can relax with some friends after a long day, whether that’s in person or online playing some games.

Overall, this is another brand that Flora Arbor has brought to the Illinois market, continuing to prove they put out nothing but the best. If you are interested in trying these products out, make sure to swing by Stash Dispensaries in Orland Hills or Peru to load up!

Stay tuned for our final two Khalifa Kush strain reviews.
