It’s a familiar sting for those of us navigating the digital landscape of the cannabis industry. Just this past Saturday night, my Midwest Dazed page vanished into the ether, another casualty of what feels like Meta and Instagram’s heavy-handed enforcement of rules. This blow comes hot on the heels of losing our main Couch Lock’d page, which had a community of 2.4 thousand followers by Sunday afternoon.
Frankly, it’s disheartening to witness what appears to be a systematic undermining of reliable resources dedicated to educating both seasoned and new cannabis consumers. Platforms like Instagram, while boasting about their community standards, seem to disproportionately target accounts that responsibly share information about new products and crucial legislative updates within the legal cannabis scene.
Here at Couch Lock’d, our mission remains clear: to serve as a vital source of information for the legal cannabis industry in Illinois and other legal states. We are committed to keeping you informed about the exciting influx of new products hitting the market and the important bills and legislation being pushed forward that directly impact our community.
While the repeated need to rebuild our presence on Instagram is frustrating, especially when platforms like YouTube have proven to be more receptive, we want to assure you that our commitment to providing you with quality content remains unwavering. We will be diligently working to grow our backup Instagram page back to its former strength.

Furthermore, this latest setback only strengthens our resolve to expand our presence on YouTube. We’re excited to dedicate more resources to bringing you in-depth interviews, engaging discussions, and other valuable content through video.
So, while we navigate these frustrating hurdles imposed by Meta’s policies, know that Couch Lock’d is not going anywhere. We will continue to be your source for the latest in the Illinois and broader legal cannabis world. Follow our backup Instagram page, subscribe to our YouTube channel, and stay tuned, we’re just getting started.
