I recently got my hands on a half ounce of Lantz by Alien Tek Farms during my most recent visit to Information Entropy in New Buffalo. I’ve had my eyes on Alien Tek for about a year now but have yet to grab any, after seeing that they had some Lantz, I asked to give it a smell and one whiff was all I needed to make the grab. I was checking out the $80-$100 half ounces and this Alien Tek at $60 felt like it matched up to the more premium price tagged jars.
The aroma on this jar was definitely pungent. Being a cross between Green Lantern & Ridgeline Runtz, I figured it would lean towards the runtz side. There was a strong gassy smell up front, along with some sweet and fruity notes that gave it a kind of candy like smell. The flavor carried over nicely to the taste, with that same mix of gas and sweetness that combined into a really flavorful smoke. Definitely a strain where I found myself enjoying the taste just as much as the smell.

As far as the appearance goes, the buds were on the smaller side, without any particularly large or standout nugs in the half ounce. That being said, I wouldn’t necessarily hold that against the flower. The jar itself is a bit on the skinnier side, so some larger buds probably wouldn’t have fit all that well anyway. They were nice and sticky with a nice frosty coverage with mainly darker greens and orange hairs.
Where this batch of Lantz really took off for me was the effects. This was a great smoke with a really enjoyable combination of mental and physical effects. I got a nice euphoric head high that paired nicely with a relaxing and pain relieving body buzz, bringing some physical relaxation and tension relief without feeling overly sedated or couch locked. It’s a great strain for kicking back after a long day at work when you’re looking to unwind and let some of that tension go.
Overall, this jar of Lantz by Alien Tek Farms is definitely a strain I’ll be keeping an eye out for again and is a strain I’m definitely looking to grab by other brands to see how they stack up. Between the pungent aromas and tastes, as well as strong effects, this one checked just about all the boxes for me. Sometimes you come across a strain that just seems to hit exactly what you’re looking for, and Lantz has quickly become one of those strains for me. Definitely a jar I’m happy I picked up, and one that I want to keep in my rotation.
