On my way home from Electric Forest a couple of weeks ago, I made another stop at Information Entropy to pick up some flower. On the drive to the festival, I had grabbed some shake for quick and easy cone packing throughout the weekend, but I wanted something special for the trip back.
One of the reasons I enjoy shopping at Information Entropy is that I never have to second-guess the quality of what I’m buying. That confidence makes it easy to branch out and try new brands, which is exactly how I ended up picking up today’s review strain: Grape Runtz x LZBS #28 from Great Lakes Kush Genetics.
Grape Runtz x LZBS #28 is a cross of Grape Runtz x (Lemonz Z F2 x BOG Sour #23). According to Great Lakes Kush Genetics, the genetics were selected and bred entirely in-house, allowing them to carefully dial in the traits they’re looking for through phenotype selection. The batch I picked up was harvested on May 10, 2026, making it a fresh offering that tested at 28.6% THC.
When it comes to grape-forward strains, you’ll often find either a candy-like sweetness or an aroma that leans toward that classic grape syrup profile. This batch landed firmly on the sweeter side. The aroma was filled with rich grape notes backed by creamy undertones and just a hint of citrus lingering in the background.
The bud structure was excellent. The flower was nicely trimmed and had a soft, spongy texture without being overly dry. That made it easy to handle and ideal for rolling. Visually, the buds were impressive, covered in a thick layer of trichomes with vibrant purple hues peeking through bright orange pistils.
As always, I used my trusty Flower Mill to break everything down. The result was a fluffy, even grind that rolled perfectly into one of my bamboo OCB papers. Since the flower still retained plenty of moisture, the process was quick and effortless. No fighting with dry buds or chasing loose flower across the rolling tray, everything stayed right where it should.
The dry pull delivered exactly what the aroma promised. The creamy grape flavor came through strongly, while the citrus notes took more of a backseat. Once lit, the flavor remained consistent throughout the smoke. For those who pay attention to burn quality, the joint produced a clean white ash and burned evenly from start to finish.
As for the effects, I found Grape Runtz x LZBS #28 to lean toward a mellow indica-hybrid experience. I felt noticeable relaxation in my shoulders and definitely found myself reaching for snacks not long after lighting up. At the same time, the high remained uplifting, social, and giggly rather than sedating.

This isn’t the type of strain I’d reach for if I wanted to be glued to the couch or completely zoned out. Instead, it felt more suited for gaming, hanging out with friends, watching a movie, or simply unwinding without becoming overly tired or foggy.
Overall, I came away impressed with my first experience with Great Lakes Kush Genetics. Based on the quality of this jar, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more of their flower during future visits to Information Entropy. If Grape Runtz x LZBS #28 is any indication of what they’re producing, there’s plenty more worth exploring.
