The Illinois cannabis industry has experienced tremendous growth over the past several years, but many workers have raised concerns about whether that growth is translating into meaningful opportunities for the people on the front lines. From budtenders and cultivators to production staff, delivery drivers, and management, employees play a critical role in the success of this industry, yet many continue to face challenges related to advancement, compensation, workplace culture, and long term career development.
For an upcoming episode of Couch Lock’d, I am looking to connect with current and former Illinois cannabis industry employees who are willing to share their experiences. The goal is to have an open and honest discussion about what it is really like to work in Illinois cannabis, what has improved over the years, what challenges still exist, and what changes are needed to create a more sustainable future for workers.
This conversation is not about attacking individual companies. It is about giving employees a platform to discuss their experiences, highlight areas for improvement, and explore ways the industry can evolve so that workers have the opportunity to prosper alongside the businesses they help build.
If you are interested in participating in the episode and sharing your perspective, please reach out through our website, social media channels, or email. Every role, experience level, and viewpoint is welcome. Your voice can help shape an important conversation about the future of cannabis employment in Illinois.
