Recently, Cronja launched in Illinois, bringing more flower and pre roll options to the market, both infused and non infused, in partnership with Emerald Gardens, one of the newer craft operators in the state.
I recently received their 1.5 gram Live Rosin and Ice Water Hash glass tip infused pre roll as a gift to try and share my thoughts.
The strain I rolled up was Shot Caller, an indica dominant hybrid cross of Don Mega x Hood Candyz. As soon as I cracked open the bag and tube, the terpenes immediately jumped out. It had that funky blend of sweet candy dipped in gasoline, loud, pungent, and unapologetic. The aroma alone let me know this one was not coming to play.
The roll job was on point. It featured a clean glass tip with a crutch built inside to prevent any Scooby Snacks from pulling through, something that can instantly ruin the smoking experience. It was not rolled too tight like some pre rolls on the market. Instead, it had perfect airflow where every pull delivered a smooth, even burn from the moment I sparked it.
The burn time clocked in at about 25 minutes, staying consistent and even the entire way through. Interestingly, while the nose leaned sweet and candy forward, the flavor translated more toward that gassy and slightly chemical side, but in a good way. It was not harsh at all.
Each pull was light and enjoyable, with an easy inhale and smooth exhale. It did not leave that scratchy throat feeling that some infused pre rolls tend to cause. For an indica dominant strain, I would not categorize this as heavily sedative. It was more of a relaxed, sit back and play video games or binge a show type of high. Calming without being couch lock heavy, great for people who want to unwind without feeling groggy or overly sleepy.

Overall, I was genuinely impressed, especially considering the 19 dollar sale price for an infused 1.5 gram pre roll featuring live rosin and ice water hash. That is a strong value in today’s Illinois market. I have seen a few other Cronja strains popping up on menus across the state and will definitely be checking more of them out soon.
