National Sandwich Day brought one of the wildest Chicago food collabs we’ve seen, Fry The Coop teamed up with Stans Donuts to drop the Maple Long John Chicken Sandwich, and you already know we had to pull up for a taste test.
This limited-time sandwich combines sweet and spicy in a way that only Chicago could pull off; a maple long john donut as the bun, crispy chicken strips, spicy butter, and a drizzle of syrup. It’s a bold combo that hits all the right notes if you’re into that sweet-heat balance.
For this episode, Patrick from Midwest Dazed linked up with West Town Weed at Fry the Coop’s West Town location to see if this sandwich lives up to the hype. While there, they also tried out the Journeyman Hash Rosin Infused Shots, the perfect pairing for a munchies-approved sandwich review.

The sweetness from the donut and maple syrup perfectly complements the spicy butter and juicy chicken. It’s a flavor experience worth trying again if Fry the Coop brings it back.
