Fruit Stripez Hash Rosin by Monopoly Melts Michigan

After seeing a lot of mixed reviews and opinions on Monopoly Melts, most of which seemed to lean positive, I wanted to finally give the brand a shot for myself. I grabbed a 1 gram jar of their Fruit Stripez Hash Rosin, which typically is somewhere in the $40-$60 a gram depending on where you find it. In my opinion, that puts it towards the premium price range, or at least the higher end of mid tier, and when I’m spending that kind of money on a gram, I expect a more premium experience.

As far as the flavor goes, this batch of Fruit Stripez had pretty much everything I was expecting from the strain. There was a fruity berry and citrus smell and taste, along with some nice Z terps. The flavors were definitely good, but I found myself wishing they popped a little more. I was expecting those fruity, citrusy, and Z notes to really stand out, especially the Z tang, but they came across a little more subtle and muted than I was hoping for.

The effects were there as well, but again, I expected a little more. I got a slightly energetic yet soothing body buzz that made for a nice wake and bake, but it wasn’t nearly as potent as I expected. It was the kind of buzz that was right in the middle of the road potency wise, where I was definitely feeling the effects but I was hoping for a little more intensity from a more premium priced rosin.

That’s really where my biggest issue with this jar comes in. I still really enjoyed it, but I felt like I was getting an experience that was pretty similar to what I’ve had from brands like LOCO or Strait Fire, which can be found for about half the price. When I’m paying $40-$60 for a gram, I want to feel like I’m getting something noticeably above what I can get at a lower price point.

That being said, I’m not ready to write off Monopoly Melts based on one jar. This was my first real experience with the brand, and the mixed reviews were actually part of what made me want to try it in the first place. I’m definitely willing to grab another jar and see if a different strain or batch shows me if it’s worth continuing to grab.

Overall, this Fruit Stripez was a good jar and one I genuinely enjoyed. The flavor profile was there, the effects were enjoyable, and there wasn’t anything about the jar that really stood out as a dislike. I just expected the flavor and potency to pop a little more for the price. At this price point, I’m looking for something that really separates itself from the more budget friendly options, and this one didn’t quite get there for me. I’ll definitely give Monopoly Melts another shot, though, because I don’t think one jar is enough to judge the whole brand.
