Recently I received a sample of Super Sweet by Nez, an Illinois craft grower known for a wide portfolio of cultivars from Mac Stomper to their award winning indica Cadillac Rainbows which took home Best in Grass back in 2024. Super Sweet immediately caught my attention because it is a cross of Blockberry x BOLO Runtz, two popular strains we see often in the market, and the nose lives up to the name. Below we take a look at the label details and break down the bud, smoke, and effects.

Whats in the Mylar
This sample came in one of the small Nez mylar bags. If you know me, you know I truly prefer glass for preserving flower. Nez uses glass for their eighth jars but their Otherside line comes in mylar. Inside the bag were two nickel sized nugs covered in trichomes with light purple hues throughout. When I opened the bag the sweet berry candy aroma rushed out with a light citrus and honey undertone. For something harvested in August I expected the buds to be sticky but they were noticeably dry and crispy.
The Roll Up
Breaking the buds down with my Flower Mill released even more of the sweet aroma. Once I opened the mill the ground flower was just as dry as the whole nugs. I was hoping the center would hold some moisture to help with rolling but the texture stayed dry and dusty. Once lit the Blockberry flavor showed up with a light sweet citrus presence that lingered on the inhale.

The Effects
While smoking this I felt my mood lift quickly. The high was euphoric and giggly without being overly relaxing. It brought a clear and calm mental state that helped shut down racing thoughts while still allowing me to get up and move. This works well for unwinding after a long day or easing anxiety without getting stuck on the couch.
Rating
Overall this was not the best and not the worst in terms of quality. The dryness caused the joint to burn faster than normal and reminded me more of something from an MSO rather than a craft producer. Since this was a sample in a mylar bag I am not holding it against Nez as I have had plenty of their glass jar releases that were top tier. For me personally I would not pick up this specific batch again. Nothing from the experience made me think I needed it in my stash especially with other growers offering strong Blockberry cuts.
