I made a recent stop at one of the more highly suggested dispensaries in Michigan while I was in the New Buffalo area, Information Entropy, and had a wonderful experience (see my article about my whole visit). While there, I tried to grab a little bit of what they had to offer from their house brand along with a couple other favorites from other companies that they carried. I’ve heard that Information Entropy’s hash rosin was top tier so I decided to grab the Original Z, which is one of my favorite strains, especially as rosin.
They use some great art work on their packaging and seem to go the anime route. I gotta say, it does make their products stand out a bit. With a Sept 27th testing date, this jar was only about a little over a month old by the time I bought it and is something I’d consider pretty fresh. I also noticed that on the bottom of the jar itself, they didn’t only put the strain name but also number the jar, mine being 54 out of 542, something I haven’t seen from a dispo brand before but something I definitely welcome as it lets the consumers know how big the batch was and if it was truly “small batch” like some companies claim.
After getting the jar to room temperature, I opened it and immediately smelled some sharp Z terps with a tangy and nose hair raising sweet and sour candy like aroma, perfectly matching what I expect from Original Z with it carrying over to the taste amazingly with the sharp tanginess really kicking up a notch. Nice moist appearance and texture with a great golden color that isn’t too light or too dark.
I started off with a smaller dab around 470 degrees as I knew this was going to be a jar that I didn’t want to blow through and really savor as more of a “treat myself” dab. It had a very nice melt and 470 seemed to be a good temperature for this rosin as the flavor popped without leaving too much left over in the banger. This was also a nice reminder that quality products tend to have more potent and longer lasting effects as I felt a small dab of this hit just as hard as some bigger globs of some cheaper live resins or even budget rosins. It gave off a great mentally focusing buzz that had me dialed in to playing some video games along with a mood elevating euphoria that made for a perfect stress reliever. It settled into a nice, physically soothing buzz that had me sinking into the couch after a little bit but taking another dab brought me right back and wide awake.
Overall, this was a definite banger for me and had me wishing I grabbed a 2nd jar of it as well as curious about trying it out in flower or vape form. I will definitely be returning to Information Entropy as I 100% understand the hype behind this brand and really want to check out what other options they have to offer.
