Review: Rick Jamez #3 Rosin Vape by 710 Labs Michigan

710 Labs is a brand well known in the cannabis industry, often regarded as one of the most premium names on the market. It has received widespread praise from consumers and proudly markets itself as a high-end brand, while charging a premium price to match. I wanted to see if  their product truly justifies the cost.

Personally, I’ve only sampled 710 Labs products from friends’ jars or at dab bars during events. While I’ve always enjoyed what I’ve tried, I had never purchased anything myself, mainly due to the price. However, when I stopped by Trap Stars in New Buffalo and saw their 50% off first-time deal, I decided it was finally time to grab something for myself. I went for this vape.

When it comes to rosin vapes, the standard is typically a 0.5g cart or disposable, so the fact that this was a full gram immediately caught my attention. From experience, I’ve noticed that the first half of a vape always tastes and functions better than the second half due to repeated heating and cooling cycles. Over time, that exposure can affect quality, especially if the vape spends time in a pocket (though I try to keep my rosin vapes upright at home to maintain their integrity). Given 710 Labs’ reputation as a premium brand, I had higher expectations that this vape would maintain its quality throughout its lifespan compared to others.

I’ve had some experience with this specific vape hardware before, and while it’s not my personal favorite, I’ve read that it has a very low failure rate. Typically, I avoid this style because I feel the vapor clouds it produces aren’t as dense as some other options. However, I can see why higher-quality brands opt for it as it has a few key features that stand out.

One unique aspect is the on/off switch at the bottom, which also functions as a preheat trigger. Flipping it to the “on” position initiates a five-second preheat, which I found essential for getting the best experience with this vape. A solid 3–5 second preheat followed by an inhale produced big and dense clouds. Without preheating, the vapor was decent, but since I prefer big hits, I used the preheat function almost every time. That said, I was mindful not to take back-to-back-to-back rips to prevent overheating the rosin. Instead, I stuck to two hits at a time and let the vape rest upright for 5–10 minutes between sessions.

The flavor and effects of the Rick Jamez #3 vape were phenomenal, and I finally understood the hype surrounding 710 Labs. This strain, a cross between Runtz and Jealousy, delivered an incredible sweet, fruity, and earthy profile that stood out as top-tier. After just a small hit, I immediately thought, “Yep, that’s some fire rosin”.

On the exhale, the same sweet, fruity, and earthy notes remained prominent, but I also picked up a slight hint of sour lemon, which added an extra layer of complexity. The effects were just as impressive, providing a potent body buzz that melted away strain and tension in my shoulders. The high was deeply relaxing and soothing, making this vape perfect for unwinding at the end of the day or even as a mid-day toke to stay comfortably lifted.

After making it through about ¾ of the vape, I was pleasantly surprised to find no noticeable decline in flavor or potency. The rosin maintained its golden hue, and with the preheat function, it continued producing thick, flavorful clouds just as it did when it was brand new. I attribute some of this to the care I took, avoiding rapid hits, keeping the vape upright whenever possible, and designating it as my “home vape” to limit time spent in my pocket. About halfway through the vape, I gave it about a 3-4 hour recharge to make sure the battery didn’t die on me while i was out of the house with it, something I tend to do with all my disposable vapes. My biggest concern when purchasing a full-gram rosin vape was that the experience would degrade halfway through, but I was happily proven wrong.

Overall, I’m incredibly impressed with this vape and 710 Labs as a whole. They’re definitely on my buy list moving forward, though I’ll still aim to pick them up when I can pair my purchase with a sale or rewards points. While I wasn’t initially thrilled to see this specific vape hardware used, I have to admit, I was humbled by how well it performed.

710 Labs delivered a premium experience, and I can confidently say this vape lived up to its reputation.
