I recently picked up a jar of Runtz by Information Entropy, a strain that has almost become a “classic” these days. Information Entropy has built a strong reputation in Michigan for consistently putting out high quality flower, and Runtz is one of those strains where expectations are already pretty high going in as I’ve learned over the years what to expect from a good batch.
The first thing that hit me when cracking the jar was how pungent this one was. The aroma was super pungent right away, with a sweet and sour fruitiness paired with a pedal to the floor gassy punch that really dominated the nose. That same profile translated extremely well to the flavor. Each hit came through very flavorful, with the gas leading the way and the sweet, slightly tangy fruit notes rounding it out on the backend. If you’re someone who leans toward gassy terp profiles, this one absolutely hits the spot.
Physically and visually, the buds weren’t huge, but they were far from small. I wouldn’t call them chonkers, but definitely nothing I would consider smalls or popcorn. The flower had a darker overall appearance with deep green tones, bright orange hairs, and a solid layer of frosty trichome coverage that gave it a pretty eye catching appearance.
Effects wise for me, it gave off a euphoric and uplifting high that felt perfect as a midday pick me up or a solid way to get the day going. The mental effects came on fairly quickly, boosting mood and energy without feeling racy or overwhelming, making it an easy strain to reach for when you want to stay functional but still very lifted.
Overall, Runtz by Information Entropy checked just about all the boxes I look for in a quality product. Pungent aroma, strong flavor, solid bag appeal, and potent effects all came together nicely in this batch. While the nugs weren’t massive, the quality more than made up for it, and this jar easily lived up to the hype. If you’re a fan of gassy and fruity strains or IE’s flower in general, this is definitely one worth grabbing.
